Duties

Help

The selectee will serve as a/an Intelligence Research Specialist (Protective) in the Office of Strategic Intelligence and Information. Typical work assignments include:

  1. Independently develop new concepts, guides, and methodologies in the solution of unprecedented problems and develop experimental approaches and solutions.
  2. Conducts briefings with the intelligence coordinator to high-ranking Secret Service and other agency officials.
  3. Providing and coordinating open source support for presidential, vice presidential, and other protected persons' travel and for National
    Special Security Events.
  4. Discussing issues and developments with internal and external peers, customers, and stakeholders, communicates
    regularly to exchange subject information

Qualifications

GS-12:
You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $99,200.00) if you possess one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:

  1. Researching and reviewing protective intelligence information;
  2. Identifying behaviors of interest by analyzing different platforms; and
  3. Providing reports to managers to ensure they are informed on developing intelligence and statuses.
GS-13:
You qualify for the GS-13 level (starting salary $117,962.00 ) if you possess one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
  1. Evaluating protective information to determine the significance within the organization;
  2. Conducting debriefings of investigative or protective personnel to ensure all pertinent information is noted;
  3. Conducting comprehensive analysis of intelligence information from different sources to determine when additional research is required; and
  4. Providing intelligence information for a domestic site or foreign country to be visited.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
