Duties

Help

The selectee will serve as an Investigative Analyst in the Criminal Investigative Division. Typical work assignments include:

  1. Identifying analytical approaches and formulating strategies for data retrieval and analysis, trends, relationships, and/or profile analysis purposes.
  2. Participating as an active member on anti-crime task forces, providing criminal research and analytical assistance pertaining to on-going investigations.
  3. Drafting written documents and presenting research finding to applicable stakeholders.
  4. Conducting research on electronic crime, cybercrime, credit card theft, money laundering, fraud, counterfeiting of U.S. currency and obligations, terrorism, and other financial crimes.
  5. Maintaining ongoing collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Specialized Experience

You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $86,962.00) if you possess one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:

  1. Researching criminal and/or intelligence activities;
  2. Preparing analytical findings in support of investigations; and
  3. Utilizing statistical and analytical approaches for data identification and/or retrieval.
NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible.

You qualify for the GS-13 level (starting salary $103,509.00) if you possess one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
  1. Analyzing data from multiple sources to provide guidance on investigations;
  2. Evaluating the impact of criminal trends and/or patterns to determine additional investigative steps; and
  3. Working with stakeholders within the law enforcement and/or private sector communities to advance criminal investigations.
