Duties

Help
  • Serves as Supervisory Deputy Project Manager for assigned Acquisition system and/or related mission equipment.
  • Balances cost, schedule and performance to assure best value for the Army.
  • Interfaces with external stakeholders such as representatives from OSD, Joint Staff, HQDA, TRADOC, ASA(ALT), PEO Staff, and other commands and agencies.
  • Visits industrial facilities, other government agencies and high headquarters to assure adequate program accomplishment.
  • Reviews programming documents received from HQDA to determine effect on assigned programs.
  • Responsible for the analysis and evaluation of programs as they affect assigned equipment.
  • Keeps informed of current developments in the technical field and maintains oversight of the integration of the project system with other systems.
  • Performs the full range of administrative and technical supervisory duties.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
  • This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel away from your permanent duty station requirement of up to 25% of the time.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
  • Selectee must meet position requirements for advanced certification in (A) Program Management within 48 months as of entrance on duty.
  • This position is Key Leadership Position (KLP). Incumbent must meet the requirements for KLP - DPM for MDAPs (ACAT I). Note: KLPs for ACAT I programs require 8 years of experience in addition to the functional specific requirements.
  • This position requires a 4-year tenure agreement. Must sign DD Form 2889 (Critical Acquisition Position Service Agreement Key Leadership Position) and execute, as a condition of employment, a written tenure agreement

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify for this position based on experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03 level in the Federal service which includes: (1) Tracking/monitoring cost, schedule and performance and risk of assigned project/programs; (2) Executing all aspects of the acquisition process (such as development, testing, system integration, production, fielding, and product improvement); (3) Overseeing Program Objective Memorandum (POM) planning, cost estimating, budgeting, and program integration for programs; (4) Attending decision briefings on organization's current programs.

The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-03 ( or GS-13 equivalent).

    • Highest category of certification in the applicable functional area (required upon assignment).
