Duties

Help
  • Serves as the Director of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office, providing oversight and implementation of DLA's enterprise-wide data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and analytics mission.
  • Acts as the DLA Chief Digital and AI Officer (CDAO) and DLA's data, AI, and analytics process owner.
  • Analyze, plan, design, execute, direct, and evaluate the implementation of the information governance, enterprise business standards, data, AI, and analytics management, standards and governance, ...(cont)
  • ...(cont) and data management services programs to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and to manage assigned projects and staff in support of them.
  • Develops and implements Federal regulations and DLA policies, standards, and procedural guidance to implement the overall strategic data services mission to ensure statutory and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Frequently and independently interfaces directly with senior DLA and DoD leaders and managers as well as key officials at peer organizations and Military Services, including, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-15 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:

  • Overseeing, directing, and planning enterprise-wide data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, data science, analytics, and information governance and compliance missions and functions;
  • Rendering technical decisions relating to major long-range programs that determine the direction of present and future programs through a constant review of program objectives, results, and accomplishments;
  • Resolving conventional problems and situations in work-flow, staffing, organizational structure, and/or administration.
  • Developing guidance, strategy and detailed procedures and guidelines to supplement established administrative regulations or program guidance.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
