About the position: This position will be assigned to the Fort Tuthill in Flagstaff, AZ.

This is a Flexible position no benefits.

Heavy physical effort is required in frequently lifting and moving objects weighing over 50 pounds, and in using heavy hand tools and operating equipment.

The first applicant list will be pulled on May 16th, and then every two weeks until position is filled.

Duties

Help

Duties include performing one or a combination of the following manual labor tasks:
Loads, unloads, or relocates heavy or bulky items from boxcars, trucks, and other conveyances; carriers and assembles scaffolding.
Shovels and moves snow using hand tools, snow blowers, and small lawn tractor.
Uses heavy (not domestic type) power mowers as well as walk-behind mowers & hand-held weed-eaters; adjust blades and cleans and oils mowers; cuts trees using ax, chain saw, hedge trimmers, clippers.
Paints and stains interior walls, exterior decks, siding.
Troubleshoots minor electrical such as checking breakers, changing lightbulbs.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Experience which demonstrates the ability to operate, control and clean heavy powered equipment. Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions. Physically able to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds. Work that requires the skills and knowledge in operating heavy equipment, continually involves extreme physical effort; such as, constantly lifting or carrying objects weighing 80 to 100 pounds or more with assistance.


Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
