Duties

Help
  • Plans, coordinates, and reviews assigned areas of the logistics support provided to the Aviation Capital Assets across the Central Command (CENTCOM) Area of Responsibility (AOR).
  • Serves as a contracting officer representative (COR) with responsibility for inspection, review and verification of contractor's work efforts and products.
  • Reviews and directs the implementation of Department of the Army (DA) and Department of Defense (DOD) current and future program guidance within assigned areas, having a broad and far-reaching significance on the mission.
  • Manages the efforts of contractor and government personnel to ensure requirements of the Integrated Logistics Support Plan (ILSP) are performed.
  • Serves as the Principal Agent within 1TSC SPO MMB on matters involving aviation logistics and related functions including supply, maintenance, training, personnel, transportation, financial management and management information systems.

  • This position will require the employee to travel temporarily away from their normal duty station up to 50% of the time for missions, conferences, and training, both CONUS and OCONUS including remote or isolated sites.
  • This position may require the employee to travel to hostile environments.
  • This position may require the employee to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
  • This position is deployable; a pre-deployment physical is required upon deployment notification.
  • The employee may be required to work overtime.
  • The employee is required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • The employee may be recalled to duty.
  • This position requires employee to work under adverse environmental conditions and possibly live under field conditions when in a Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) status.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
  • Travel maybe in different Operating Theaters of Command (AOTC).
  • Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year specialized experience which includes 1) developing and executing plans to acquire aviation supplies including the maintenance, training, manpower, transportation, budget, of such equipment; 2) managing contractor's compliance with contractual terms including review and correcting errors.; and 4) overseeing the upkeep of fixed-wing aviation machinery such as aircraft status, tracking aircraft work and/or maintenance, and production of aircrafts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of the work performed at the next lower level/grade (GS-11).

  • Key/Essential: In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively. The incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty and will receive training to ensure mission accomplishment of sustaining base operations during mobilization. You must be willing and able to accept that you may be required to take part in readiness exercises, that you must be removed from military recall status, and that you may not join a reserve unit during mobilization to obtain and maintain this position.
  • TERM Appointment with option for conversion: To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent.
