Duties

Help

Ensures facility and equipment are up to current standards by conducting research and reviewing accepted animal care practices. Acts as building custodian.

Responsible for Pet Lodge finance and customer usage reports to squadron, base and MAJCOM level supervision. Prepares NAF income/expenditures budget and plans.

Responsible for facility income reports, financial deposits, petty cash and payroll.

Responsible for workforce management to include scheduling employees, approving/disapproving leave, training new employees, assigns and monitors work responsibilities for employees and resolving employee grievances.

Monitors the health and wellbeing of the animals entrusted to facility and keeps owners apprised of any health concerns.

Maintains Pet Lodge Facebook page.

Will perform animal caretaking duties on a semi regular basis, to include transporting pets to/from airport.

Performs other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Must have previous experience working in a boarding kennel or veterinary clinic and supervisory/managerial experience.

Must be able to recognize different animal breeds, be familiar with their proper care and recognize potential health care problems and risks.

Administrative experience with Microsoft Office products is required.

A degree in an animal or health related field will substitute for experience.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution in order to qualify.

Additional information
