Help
  • Provide administrative support on engineering and construction contracts from inception to completion.
  • Support project engineers in the document review of a broad range of contracting documents such as office engineering, contract plans and specifications, contractor work progress and payments, quality assurance, and contract administration functions.
  • Perform data entry of contract modifications and supporting documentation.
  • Review multiple document types including proposed modifications, serial letters, labor payrolls, pay estimates, etc. for adequacy and compliance with policy and procedures.
  • Process contractor-submitted items within multiple systems (e.g. serial letters, modifications, payrolls, etc.) to ensure electronic records of contract work is current and accurate.
  • Review project and contracting correspondence and reports for grammar and formatting.
  • Prepare and review partial and final payment estimates and monthly accruals.
  • Use a variety of automated tools in support of engineering projects and contract administration which include but are not limited to Financial Management Systems, Resident Management System, Paperless Contract File, Procurement Desktop 2, etc.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes 1.) providing administrative support over engineering contracts; 2.) inputting data for routine engineering contract elements such as funding, no cost changes, and minor modifications; 3.) using a variety of automated systems to support engineering projects such as data entry for engineering contracts, extracting reports covering project cost, budget, and expenditures, and providing automated reports to project engineers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Specialized Experience GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes 1.) inputting data into automated contract and or financial management systems for construction or similar projects such as simple contract modifications, approved funding modifications, and administrative modifications; 2.) accepting contracting documents, reports, and working files as part of the file maintenance for construction and contracting projects; 3.) updating automated financial and contracting systems to ensure accurate and up to date reporting data, engineering cost estimates, and contract status. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
