As an Executive Director, AD-0301-00, you will be responsible for: • Advise the National Board for Education Sciences (NBES), carry out research and projects related to the duties of the NBES, and implement its policies, recommendations, and directives. • Organize and manage the operations of the Board, including overseeing its annual budget, developing long range plans for the Board, and preparing Congressionally mandated reports. • Liaise with members of Congress, U.S. Department of Education officials, and public and private education organizations. • Schedule and organize board meetings throughout a given year, including preparing meeting agendas, meeting discussions, and supporting materials.

You may be subject to serve a one-year probationary period.

TELEWORK ELIGIBILITY:

Specialized Experience for the AD-00:
One year of experience in either federal or non-federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-12 performing two (2) out of three (3) following duties or work assignments:
1. Experience managing an appointed board or advisory committee and advising on applicable laws, regulations and rules. 2. Experience working with an education or related organization where understanding and knowledge of all levels of education systems and key education-related issues are acquired. 3. Experience working with various stakeholders simultaneously, including, but not limited to, political appointees, government officials, elected officials, board members, contractors, members of the media, and the general public.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
The quality of your experience will be measured by the extent to which you possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs).
