This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Business & Technical Management to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

Help
  • Serves as the Information Technology Support Officer specializing in the management and administration of organizational IT support infrastructure.
  • Participates as a team member within the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis,
  • development, implementation, and enhancement of information technology programs, policies, procedures and tools.
  • Implements standard operating procedures, software, controls promoting awareness of security issues among management, and ensures that sound security principles are part of the organization's vision or goals to ensure appropriate levels of security.
  • Works with other security officers, users, computer operators, and other support personnel to ensure security regulations are followed, and that installation, command, or agency security standards are met.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must obtain Information Assurance Management Level III certification within six months of appointment.
  • Acquisition Workforce Certification in career field "Engineering and Technical Management" at the foundational level within 36 months of appointment.
  • One- year probationary period may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: In order to qualify for this position your resume must describe one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 or equivalent) grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Conducting research in support of acquisition of IT hardware, operating systems and application software tools to satisfy the end-user requirements in support of the organization's mission and workplace automation effort.; 2) Performing advanced level analysis of vulnerabilities and recommends mitigation strategies; and 3) Briefing management on the effect and implications of systems/software changes.

Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below based on the grade level required of the position being filled: 1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
