The position would serve as a Health Scientist Administrator (Program Officer, PO) within the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of the Director (OD), Division of Program Coordination, Planning, and Strategic Initiatives (DPCPSI), Office of Research on Women`s Health (ORWH) and will work within the Clinical Research Section to coordinate clinical research activities related to women's health across the NIH's Institutes and Centers.

The ideal candidate will have a background in women's health and the conduct of clinical research.

The Office of Research on Women`s Health (ORWH) serves as the focal point for research on the health of women at NIH. ORWH leads, develops, and supports a diverse range of programs, initiatives, and policies to improve the health of all women at all stages of the life course and to support women in biomedical fields at all stages of their careers. Within NIH and the broader scientific community, ORWH aims to advance the inclusion of women in clinical trials, increase understanding of the importance of sex as a biological variable, and stimulate research pertaining to the health of women and the influences of sex and gender on health and disease.

This position offers opportunities to support and lead cutting-edge research specific to the health of women within the NIH, as outlined within the NIH-wide Strategic Plan for Women's Health Research. The incumbent will collaborate with subject matter experts from across NIH and will be expected to represent the NIH in areas of responsibility to internal and external groups, including leading internal working groups and task forces. The incumbent will coordinate and oversee the U3 Administrative Supplement Program supporting interdisciplinary research focused on intersectionality and health among populations of women that are understudied, underrepresented, and underreported in biomedical research.
