Duties

Help
  • You will be responsible for all matters pertaining to force protection, the physical Security and Loss Prevention Program.
  • You will initiate and direct policy, planning and implementation of the Physical Security and Loss Prevention Program.
  • You will establish and manage progressive programs designed to protect the organization against theft, crime, sabotage, espionage, subversive activity, and malicious destruction.
  • You will conduct on-site audits/inspections providing technical advice and assistance as required.
  • You will inspect and monitor security systems to endure personnel are adhering to the system.
  • You will serve as the Anti-Terrorism Force Protection Officer for the command.

  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
  • You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing physical, industrial, and personnel security support through providing expert security advice and guidance and developing, investigating, evaluating, implementing, and maintaining security programs.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience you may qualify with a combination of education and experience:

Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

OR

Successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

OR

Successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.

This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.

Term appointments may be extended up to 8 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations. Additionally, you may be noncompetitively converted to a permanent career-conditional or career appointment under specific conditions.
