Duties

Help
  • Serve as a team leader in the oversight of contract construction of various facilities within the area of responsibility of the Resident Office.
  • Responsible for contract administration and supervision and inspection of contract construction operations and associated liaison and coordination with using agencies and contractors.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, advice and assistance and will organize, assign, and control the work of a team typically consisting of three or more engineers and/or construction quality assurance personnel.
  • Ensure proper review of contractor's submittal data on proposed materials and equipment for conformance with contract requirements and recommends approval or disapproval.
  • Oversee that Quality Assurance personnel (QAP) keep in close contact with contractor's representatives in order to plan inspection services to meet requirements of contractor's operations.

  • This position requires overnight travel. Trips are usually not longer that 2-3 nights duration and would not exceed 10% of the time.
  • Incumbent may be expected to travel up to 20%.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Coordinating the planning, design, and construction for various projects. AND 2) Reviewing construction contract plans, specifications and modifications. AND 3) Monitoring construction project performance ensuring milestones are met. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-???????11).

Education
