Duties

Help

  • Designs, implements and maintains secure Development, Security and Operations (DevSecOps) processes and toolchains in a cloud environment in accordance with industry best practices, NIST guidelines, and corporate direction as a foundation for the DAUXS-provided Developer Platform.
  • Creates and manages automation scripts, CI/CD playbooks, and tools to automate the deployment and management of infrastructure, code, and security policies to be used internally and provided as capabilities to the Developer Platform.
  • Provides guidance to workload teams, promoting the use of DevSecOps and Agile principles and identifying opportunities for leveraging automation in a DevSecOps / Agile environment through the Developer Platform. Identifies and mitigates security risks across the entire software development lifecycle, from code development to production deployment, using NIST guidelines for risk management and continuous monitoring.
  • Creates and manages CI/CD pipelines for various applications and services that are built and deployed on cloud platforms, integrating NIST guidelines for security controls and security automation. Provides technical support and troubleshooting for workload teams, including assisting with the resolution of issues related to the use of DevSecOps processes and the Developer Platform.
  • Identifies opportunities for automation and optimization of cloud services, in order to improve efficiency and reduce costs for workload teams, using tools such as automation scripts and cloud optimization services.
  • Provides technical support and troubleshooting for workload teams, including assisting with the resolution of issues related to the use of cloud services and the migration of their applications from on-premises to the cloud.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 12 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience applying Development, Security and Operations (DevSecOps) processes and toolchains in a cloud environment in accordance with industry best practices.

You must have Information Technology (IT)-related experience which demonstrates proficiency in each of the following competencies:

  • Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Additional information

Selectee(s) for this position will be required to report to their duty station office at least 1 day per pay period beginning January 2, 2024, and at their supervisor’s direction to support mission and project needs. In person reporting requirements are expected to increase in July 2024.

  1. Knowledge of the latest trends and best practices in cloud computing and Development, Security and Operations (DevSecOps).
  2. Knowledge of DevSecOps tools such as Terraform Enterprise, Aqua, GitHub with ability to apply this knowledge to migrate on premise services and solutions to the cloud.
  3. Ability to use Cloud systems, platforms, and software and their application towards solving specific, highly technical IT requirements and solutions.
  4. Ability to communicate orally.
  5. Ability to communicate in writing.
