As the Development Assistant for Annual Giving, you will:

  • Coordinates the organization and implementation of various member events, to include member previews, curatorial lectures, new member luncheons, afterhours viewings and others. Coordinates production and mailing of invitations, digital and hard copy. Manages interoffice logistics and necessary in-house arrangements. Manages digital communications and outreach via MailChimp. Maintains guest lists and any necessary follow up.
  • Coordinates annual giving renewal program, to include National Membership through the Patron level of the Circle. Develops the renewal schedule, maintains a tracking system, reworks renewal letters regularly. Oversees production and mailing of renewal solicitations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Maintains database records related to the renewal process. Develops and maintains systems to identify current members for special upgrade solicitations and to identify lapsed members for special renewal appeals. Draft solicitation letters and supporting materials for these appeals.
  • Works closely with team members, contributing to meetings and supporting collective goals. Collaborates on projects across all pre-professional programs, demonstrating flexibility and a multi-disciplinary approach.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the Qualifications Standards Handbook requirements for the NF-301-7. 

NF-7: Candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent in responsibility to the GS-5 level in the Federal service, coordinating an aspect of a donor event.

  • Event Management – Ability to plan, implement and curate various member events.
  • Program Development – Knowledge of methods and techniques to improve and develop a giving renewal program.
  • Collaboration – Skill in communicating with staff, donors, and supervisors.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement to receive consideration under merit promotion procedures.
