Help
  • Makes command level decisions on all TACOM LCMC managed Combat Support and Combat Service Support (CS and CSS) equipment and provides on-site evaluation of National Maintenance Program Initial Failure Quality Deficiency Reports.
  • Interprets policy and technical guidance and makes decisions that are directly related to supporting TACOM LCMC managed CS and CSS equipment both for internal Department of Defense (DoD) customers and external agency customers.
  • Analyzes, resolves, and coordinates the resolution of maintenance, supply, and other logistics issues affecting the readiness of fielded TACOM LCMC systems and equipment
  • Advises unit, battalion, and brigade maintenance personnel from the standpoint of clarifying unit responsibilities and keeps field commanders apprised of the need to divert equipment maintenance to higher echelons
  • Monitors unit readiness and analyzes logistic problem areas to determine root causes and recommend corrective action to field command elements or equipment proponent agencies
  • Provides technical guidance and advice on repair of all TACOM LCMC managed equipment including the overhauling of CS and CSS equipment and subsystems.
  • Provides advice and assistance to field commanders, maintenance officers, maintenance technicians, and combat support personnel with maintenance advice, assistance, and training for the operation and maintenance of military materiel managed.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • Position is Emergency Essential in support of the US Forces during periods of increasing tension, mobilization, and war. Employees stationed in Foreign Overseas areas will remain in-place in the event of hostilities or mobilization.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position requires the incumbent to possess, or obtain and maintain, a valid regular or official U.S. Passport.
  • This position is subject to a mobility or rotation agreement as a condition of employment. You will be required to relocate based on management needs for the duration of employment in this or successor positions.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25%of the time.
  • Position may require to be on-call, work irregular hours, accompany the assigned Unit during technical and training field exercises, and deploy to contingency areas to provide technical and logistics assistance.
  • This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 70lbs.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. FOR GS-11

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Advising on the use, design, theory, and operating characteristics of Combat Support & Combat Service Support (CS&CSS) Equipment; (2) Reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating deficiency and failure reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Advising on the use, design, theory, and operating characteristics of Combat Support & Combat Service Support (CS&CSS) Equipment; (2) Reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating deficiency and failure reports; (3) Preparing, reviewing, or approving changes for the update or revised technical manuals, maintenance service letters, technical bulletins, and supply catalogs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job at the GS-12 level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

  • Overseas assignment will be in IAW established tours as defined in DoD Civilian Personnel Joint Travel Regulations unless mission dictates otherwise.
  • The employee will maintain all required immunizations. If required, the employee will receive a series of vaccine immunizations to include Anthrax and annual boosters. Failure to receive vaccines may result in removal from the position.
  • Must maintain a Government Travel Credit Card (GTCC) IAW applicable rules and regulations.
  • Will maintain government provided telephonic means of communication which LAPE-E/MM personnel are required to answer during duty and non-duty periods and respond to requests for information and assistance. Employees will be appropriately compensated if non-duty assistance results in the employee reporting for duty.
  • Will complete and maintain current Commodity Tier 1 and Tier 2 level training and technical certification. Failure to meet and maintain Commodity Tier 1 and Tier 2certification may result in removal from the position. New hire employees must complete their Commodity Tier 1 requirement within 12 months of being hired.
  • AT THE GS-12 LEVEL: This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics, Foundational certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.
