About the position: The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of tasks to support a bar or beer serving activity.This position is located at the Misawa Collocated Club of the 35th Force Support Squadron, Misawa AB, Japan.

This is a Flexible category position; guaranteed 0 hours per week but may work up to 40 hours per week depending on the needs of the facility.

Military Spouse Preference is not lost if selected for this position.

This position is NOT eligible for SOFA status.

Duties

Help

Carries supplies and equipment, such as liquors, fruits, ice, glasses, linens and silverware from storage areas to the bar. Slices and peels fruit. Fills ice bins and crushes ice. Washes and cleans bar glasses, bar equipment and keeps the work area clean and neat. Replaces empty beer kegs with full kegs with the aid of a dolly; stocks beer coolers. Wipes down the interior and exterior surfaces of coolers. Helps in setting up service bars and portable bars. Carries debris to waste containers. May serve bottle beer, soft drinks and draw beer from kegs. May assist with end of month inventory. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Ability to follow simple oral instructions and be able to use knives and automatic slicers to prepare garnishes. Ability to frequently lift objects weighing 5 to 15 pounds, pull and push objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift up to and over 40 pounds. No previous training or experience is required. Satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.

Must meet the appropriate minimum age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training. Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
