Serves as an action officer for food & beverage operational business program and procedures. Participates in the implementation of higher headquarters directives, procedures and programs to insure high standards of food and beverage and promotional programs. Assists in analyzing financial information, maintains records, tracks trends, identifies problem areas, and submits recommendations to the supervisor. Manages various Food & Beverage divisions, programs that may include Air Force catering programs and requirements snack bar operations for programs such as bowling center and golf course operations, and other food service operations, limited time offers and other promotions, workshops for food & beverage personnel, operations guides, and special programs/projects as assigned.Plans, organizes and implements programs. Establishes in coordination with the supervisor the goals, scope, resources need and the deadlines of the program. Keeps the supervisor apprised of all pertinent issues. Responsible for data collection and analysis of base level food and beverage operations that includes product and equipment research and hands-on testing. Develops standards and documents food, beverage preparations procedures, and requirements (kitchen operations).Ensures training requirements are developed for managers, supervisors, cooks and food service workers on all aspects of food handling, food preparation, food production, sanitation and housekeeping, food cost management ordering, receiving, storing and issuing. Prepares budgets, purchase request, messages, travel orders and a variety of other program, administrative and support requirements to fulfill the desired goals of the program. Serves a liaison with the Air Force Personnel Center on issues relating to the Club Management Trainee program. Maintains contracts with university officials on issues relating to the hospitality field. Maintains current professional knowledge of trends and techniques to assist food & beverage goals by keeping contracts, staying up to date with trade journals and by attending trade shows and hospitality workshops.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience in all phases of business operations and/or nonappropiated fund management; comparable hotel, restaurant, management of finances, procurement and administrative areas. Must have served in a supervisory and/or leadership position.
A four year degree from an accredited college with a major in or combination of: hotel, club or business administration and management, may be substituted for part of the experience.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
