You will plan exhibit projects and exhibit elements, as directed.
You will apply expertise in the field of United States naval history to provide interpretation and narration for all new permanent and temporary galleries.
You will work with contractors and other Navy Museum exhibit specialists to meet visitor expectations, oversee contractor personnel, and coordinate design and production issues.
You will coordinate content support for galleries and exhibits within NMUSN, and other Navy museums and offices.
You will maintain a master narrative of United States naval history and other related fields.
You will maintain lists of NHHC Collections objects that support that narrative, along with tracking relevant naval history objects at other museums and institutions.
You will serve as a team member on technical evaluation panels.
You will serve as a member of the team in the CPO for narration, interpretive panels, and object labeling for multi-million dollar exhibit production and installation contracts.
You will assist in the strategic planning for exhibit development, maintenance, and upgrades.
You will assist with oversight of daily operations within the permanent galleries and temporary exhibit spaces.

Qualifications
There is a Basic Requirement to hold a GS-1015 series position in federal service. See the "Education" section of this announcement for details.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent with experience in the private or public sector working using knowledge of museum exhibit methodology and standards, including methodologies that incorporate physical exhibits, digital exhibits, and analog visitor experiences to perform, or assist in, performing the following:
1) Planning museum exhibit projects and exhibit elements
2) Researching and creating museum exhibits.
3) Assisting in the planning process for interpretive programs, education programs, and exhibit content.
4) Presenting historical topics to diverse audiences.
5) Applying knowledge in the field of History to provide interpretation and narration for new permanent and temporary galleries.
6) Assisting in the strategic planning for museum exhibit development, maintenance, and upgrades.
