The following are the duties of this position at the WG-8. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Operate coin press to stamp the images on the coins. Make careful inspection of the finished proof coins to assure that they meet exacting quality requirements.
Keep alert to possible mechanical problems by observing instrument panels, listening for particular sounds, watching for overheating and similar observances and takes appropriate steps to prevent mechanical breakdown.
Prepare blanks by washing in appropriate chemical solutions, drying, inspecting and setting up for pressing. Dry blanks with towels using extreme care to avoid damage to blanks and decides when they are in the proper condition for pressing.
