Duties

Help

As a SUPERVISORY EQUAL EMPLOYMENT INVESTIGATOR at the GS-1860-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • The incumbent is a Chief of a component, and develops, implements, and/or utilizes various methodologies to assure successful program operations and for effectively evaluating assigned program areas.
  • Maintains and demonstrates master-level knowledge of EEO investigations and resolutions by independently supervising a team of investigators with minimum guidance demonstrated through a broad view of 29 CFR 1614.
  • Leverages and oversees innovation, technology, and methodology, process improvements, and utilizes creative problem-solving techniques to enhance organizational effectiveness and efficiency to improve IRD timeliness.
  • Supervises employees who perform the full range of investigative phases for complaints, which includes (but is not limited to) determining the controlling theory(ies) of discrimination; clarifying the allegations (as appropriate and necessary identifying witnesses/evidence; developing investigative plans and strategies; obtaining witness statements/testimony and evidence; compiling testimony and evidence into an Investigative File (IF) pursuant to EEOC-MD-110; and preparing investigative summaries.
  • Analyzes progress of assigned program areas; plans use of human and/or technological resources to manage operations effectively and to achieve goals set for assigned programs and assures that program goals align with the organization's strategic plans and agency goals.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-14 if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:

  • Certified Mediator with experience mediating Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) related complaints.
  • Mastery of technical writing skills, and experience researching case law.
  • Performing key roles in processing EEO cases.
