Duties

Help
  • You will provide direct support to the Command leadership in the operation and facilitation of day-to-day operations of the office regarding support for official meetings, and Command events.
  • You will provide advice and event management support to NAVSEA Directorates and field office action officers on events, providing protocol guidance and event planning recommendations according to existing policy and official guidelines.
  • You will create event plans according to specified budgets, submit support requests as required, keep management informed of the status and participation requirements of events, and handle base and building access requirements for event attendees.
  • You will develop menus, coordinate with caterers, create event diagrams, and execute events in a timely fashion.
  • You will develop complex products including memorandums, events Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) documents, event scripts, programs, invitations, briefing materials, ad hoc databases, necessary for performing and over seeing assigned events.
  • You will have accountability over the Protocol and Events loan closet items, including upkeep and replacement of both perishable and non-perishable items.
  • You will ensure organization compliance with DoD and Navy policies and requirements regarding events, and ensuring that all actions and responses are fully coordinated with and among all organizational entities.
  • You will analyze, evaluate and advise on program methods and procedures to continuously improve existing events and official meeting management procedures.
  • You will review and recommend revisions to the Directorate’s administrative policies and standard operating procedures, ensuring full integration with agency policies and procedures.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

For NH-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 pay band (GS-11 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Develop plans and coordinate services for official and social functions and events for an organization.

For NH-02: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-01 pay band (GS-04 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Communicating information and planning and organizing work to meet deadlines for organizational event planning.

Successfully completion of a four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree;

Salary Information:
NH-2 is equivalent to GS-05/11 grade level: $45,146 to $107,590.
NH-3 is equivalent to GS-12/13 grade level: $99,200 to $153,354; this is a Control Pont position and is Capped at GS-13, Step 5 (currently $133,692).

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
