Summary
This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) MWR Naval Air Facility Atsugi. Incumbent performs a variety of duties in support of automotive mechanics in performance of maintenance and repair on all combustion powered vehicles. Helps with repairs that can be accomplished by removing, replacing, adjusting, or cleaning defective parts or components such as fouled spark plugs, worn brake shoes, water pumps, engine gaskets belts and hoses, etc.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
Your application will be screened for the following minimum qualification:
- Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision and any of the below
- Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc.
- Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)
- Use of measuring instruments
- Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (includes blueprint reading)
- Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment
- Trouble shooting
Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be further evaluated for:
- Ability to use standard and metric automotive hand and power tools
- A basic knowledge of automotive repair
