Duties

Help
  • Performs preliminary analysis and evaluation of policies, procedures, guidelines, and administrative processes in order to resolve conventional problems and situations with readily observable conditions.
  • Gathers and reviews statistical data related to program or management activities.
  • Works with management, program leads and other analysts to ensure that information gathered is complete and technically accurate.
  • Analyzes administrative systems, workflows, and reporting requirements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of local program operations.
  • Conducts research of specific programs or issues and collects and analyzes relevant statistics and data.
  • Conducts preliminary analyses of the organization, methods, and procedures for providing administrative support pertaining to matters such as records, communications, directives, forms, files, and documentation.

Qualifications

Recent Graduates Eligibility
This position is for Recent Graduates who have completed a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution within the previous 2 years. Note: (1) Certain veterans precluded from applying within the timeframe due to a military service obligation have up to 6 years from completing their education to apply; (2) Applicants who completed their educational program requirements after December 27, 2010 will have a full 2 years of eligibility beginning on the date the final regulations became effective, July 10, 2012.

This is an excepted service, developmental experience appointment expected to last only 1 year under the BLM Pathways Recent Graduates Program. The BLM will require the selected applicant to complete a Participant Agreement in which it shall document the anticipated start and end dates for this developmental appointment.The agency may noncompetitively convert a Recent Graduate who is a U. S. citizen to a term or permanent appointment in the competitive service, as long as the Recent Graduate successfully completes the BLM's 1 year developmental program and meets the OPM Qualification Standards for the targeted occupational series.

To qualify for the GS-05 level you must:- have at least three (3) years of progressively responsible general experience that demonstrates the ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions, plan and organize work and convey information, with at least one year equivalent to the GS-4.

Have completed 4 years of education in any field leading to a bachelor's degree. You must provide a copy of your transcripts.
-OR-
Have an equivalent Combination of general experience and education as described above.
