Air Reserve Technicians are full-time civilian employees who are also members of the Air Force Reserve unit in which they are employed. In addition to their civilian assignments, they are assigned to equivalent positions in the Reserve organization with a Reserve military rank or grade. Appointee's civilian assignments will consist of the following duties.

Duties

Help

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plans, directs, organizes, and directs the activities in the 944th Fighter Wing, ensuring that the Command Section complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
2. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
3. Represents the 944th Fighter Wing with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
4. Manages wing resources for executive support, services and activities.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

AW AFRCI 36-111, Military qualifications reserve assignment to the ART position. For ART officer positions with authorized counterpart military reserve grades of colonel and above, HQ AFPC does not certify, refer, or consider employees who are more than one grade below authorized grade of reserve position.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes at least one full year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level (or higher) or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include knowledge of the overall mission, functions, operations and organization; and a variety of principles and processes applicable to the work operations of a military wing or equivalent; knowledge of analytical, evaluative, planning and investigative processes, techniques and methods; as applied to issues or studies involving administrative or support functions; knowledge of the laws, regulations, policies and precedents applicable to wing programs and related support resources or equivalent.

Federal Time-In-Grade (TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions: Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-12 grade level or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the overall mission, functions, operations and organization; and a variety of principles and processes applicable to the work operations of a military wing or equivalent.
2. Knowledge of analytical, evaluative, planning and investigative processes, techniques and methods as applied to issues or studies involving administrative or support functions.
3. Knowledge of the laws, regulations, policies and precedents applicable to wing programs and related support resources or equivalent.
4. Knowledge of Air Force Reserve Command personnel and manpower policies and procedures.
5. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
6. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Ability to plan, organize work, and manage multiple taskings.

OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS:
1. Incumbent must have a comprehensive knowledge of Air Force Reserve Command organization, concepts, and policies including administrative and operational program requirements.
2. May be required to travel by commercial and military aircraft in the performance of temporary duty (TDY) assignments.
3. May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
4. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
5. This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
