To be eligible for the Summer Hire Intern Program, individuals must have been accepted for enrollment or be enrolled and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) In a qualifying educational institution on a full or half time basis. This position has a NOT TO EXCEED date of September 30, 2024. Applicants selected from this job opportunity announcement WILL NOT be non-competitively converted to a competitive service appointment after completion of the NTE appointment.

Duties

Help
  • Perform a full range of standard clerical office support functions.
  • Use word processing software and/or desktop publishing applications to produce a variety of documents.
  • Maintain automated tracking system for all department suspense's.
  • Types, edits, formats, and prints a wide variety of documents for the office staff, including correspondence, reports, technical notes, presentation, and briefing materiel.
  • Operate a computer, peripheral equipment and appropriate software to perform various computer operations in support of office operations.

  • Must be enrolled or have been accepted for enrollment and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) at a qualifying educational institution on a full or half time basis.
  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • Educational enrollment MUST be on a half-time or full-time basis. Half-time basis is defined by the academic institution that the student is enrolled or accepted into.
  • Official/Unofficial transcripts with the current enrollment course load.
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA

Qualifications

Student Interns qualify based on their educational achievements.

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Basic Requirements:

For the GG-01 grade level: Current enrollment in a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) program.

For the GG-02 grade level: Completion of a High school diploma or equivalent.

For the GG-03 grade level: Completion of 1 full academic year of post high school study.

For the GG-04 grade level: Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or associate's degree.

For the GG-05 grade level: Completion of all requirements for a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree.

For the GG-07 grade level: Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education or eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision after completing a bachelor's degree.

Applicants must possess a 2.5 or higher cumulative Grade Point Average- Transcripts must be submitted for proof of education.


All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education

Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services at the time of application.
