To be eligible for the Pathways Summer Hire Intern Program, individuals must have been accepted for enrollment or be enrolled and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) In a qualifying educational institution on a full or half time basis. This position has a NOT TO EXCEED date of September 30, 2024. Applicants selected from this job opportunity announcement WILL NOT be non-competitively converted to a competitive service appointment after completion of the NTE appointment.

Duties

Help
  • Perform a full range of standard clerical office support functions.
  • Use word processing software and/or desktop publishing applications to produce a variety of documents.
  • Maintain automated tracking system for all department suspense's.
  • Types, edits, formats, and prints a wide variety of documents for the office staff, including correspondence, reports, technical notes, presentation, and briefing materiel.
  • Operate a computer, peripheral equipment and appropriate software to perform various computer operations in support of office operations.

Student Interns qualify based on their educational achievements.

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Basic Requirements:

For the GS-02 grade level: Completion of a High school diploma or equivalent.

For the GS-03 grade level: Completion of 1 full academic year of post high school study.

For the GS-04 grade level: Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or associate's degree.

For the GS-05 grade level: Completion of all requirements for a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree.

For the GS-07 grade level: Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education or eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision after completing a bachelor's degree.

Applicants must possess a 2.5 or higher cumulative Grade Point Average- Transcripts must be submitted for proof of education.

All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Education

The high school curriculum must be approved by a State or local governing body. All education beyond high school must be accredited by an accrediting body or organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

PASS/FAIL COURSES: If more than 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a pass/fail basis, your claim of superior academic achievement must be based upon class standing or membership in an honor society.

To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education

Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services at the time of application.   • The duration of a Pathways appointment under Sch D is a trial period.
  • This announcement will be used to fill positions with an entry grade of GS-02, GS-03, GS-04, GS-05 or GS-07. If selected for a position a job offer will be made at the minimum salary level for the offered grade level. Management has the prerogative to select at any grade level.   • The duration of a student trainee/intern appointment is a trial period.
