Duties

Help
  • Serve as the Director of Operations(DOO) Directorate at a medium multi-mission installation, responsible for execution of operations in support of Garrison/tenant units.
  • Direct, plan, manage and coordinate DOO programs and resources.
  • Ensure compliance with all contingency planning for rapid reaction to foreign, domestic and natural disasters, emergency management, and command and control.
  • Consider recommendations for short and long-range projects with final authority to approve, alter, or reject proposals.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Emergency-Essential". Emergency-Essential designation takes precedence over any transportation agreement or military recall status.
  • This position has an occasional Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG).
  • This is a Temporary promotion intended up to three years. A temporary position may be terminated at any time during the duration of the appointment, depending upon the needs of management.
  • This is an obligated position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: one year specialized experience which includes interpret basic plans, Army regulations, directives, and policies to assure inclusion of maximum consideration in development of contingency and emergency plans.; Prepare reports and maintain records of work accomplishments and administrative information.; Coordinate the preparation, presentation, and communication of work.; and Develop new approaches and means of accomplishing all mandated requirements for project programs and policies resulting from analysis and studies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Education
