Duties

Help

  • Administers and maintains AMPO military pay and financial management systems, hardware, and software.
  • Troubleshoots issues with hardware, Wide Area Network (WAN), and Local Area Network (LAN).
  • Verifies that all computer equipment, attachments, and power support items are approved and in compliance with existing regulations, directives, and vendor specifications.
  • Serves as an AMPO network security officer; implements security plans, processes procedures, and training to comply with DoD, DA and DFAS systems security rules, regulations, and standards.
  • Provides technical support for all Mobilizations (MOBs), Demobilizations (DMOBs) and Soldier Readiness Processing at various locations.
  • Renders technical computer support for the AMPO Director and AMPO Divisions and sections as needed.

  • Department of the Army DA Civilians must successfully complete all mandatory Civilian Education System CES courses which may require travel.
  • Obtain and maintain Information Assurance (IA) Certification.
  • Registered for Selective Service (males born after 12-31-1959).
  • Time after Competitive Appointment: Candidates must have served 3 months after latest competitive appointment in the Federal service

Qualifications

Specialized Experience:
For the GS-07, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-06 if outside the Federal service.

Specialized experience is defined as providing computer hardware and software support to an organization, including troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of system applications and hardware.

In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of the competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Applicants must describe how their experience meets the competencies within the body of the resume. No separate statements addressing competencies are required.

Education

GS-07 (1-grade interval) Substitution of Education for Experience:

One full year of graduate level education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required when it is directly related to the work of the position being filled.

In accordance with DoD 8570.1-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, selectee must meet Information Assurance Certification standards. Selectee must have an approved waiver prior to placement in this position or achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of IA duties. Level 1 certification is required prior to being authorized unsupervised privileged access.
