Duties

Help
  • Through subordinate managers, is responsible for overall management and direction of the FMWR Business Division. Oversees programs in the Kaiserslautern and Baumholder areas and will require weekly travel necessary to accomplish program oversight.
  • This includes the following activities: Food, Beverage and Entertainment, Bowling, Golf, Java Cafes, contracted food and beverage operations, and Army Lodging.
  • May coordinate with officials responsible for AAFES and the Army Recreation Machine Program. Provides policies and guidance to ensure attainment of the established objectives of the division.
  • Directs, develops and administers plans and procedures. Implements, enforces, and ensures compliance with regulations to provide aggressive community business program which meets the needs and interests of the military community.
  • Provides sound leadership and supervision to ensure attainment of the established objectives of the division.

  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • The ability to obtain (within first six months of employment) and maintain a Food Protection Manager Certification acquired through an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited agency is required.
  • Required to file a Confidential Statement of Affiliations and Financial Interest in accordance with requirements of DODD 5500.7 Joint Ethics Regulation
  • Oversees programs in the Kaiserslautern and Baumholder areas and will require regular weekly travel necessary to accomplish program oversight.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Work experience directing/managing one or more DMWR Business Operations activities for a garrison, or similar civilian operation, for at least one year.

Highly Qualifying Criteria:

  • Possess minimum of 2 years' experience managing, developing, and coordinating MWR business or business-like recreation programs. Experience managing multiple business programs with multiple revenue drivers (Sales and Other Operating Income) is preferred.
  • Possess experience establishing, coordinating and executing NAF CPMC projects
  • Possess experience establishing and overseeing a NAF budget and managing programs to meet directed business standards
  • Possess multi-program leadership abilities with the full-range of supervisory experience at the FMWR garrison/Region/HQ level. Examples of supervisory experience include building, managing a workforce based on organizational goals, budget considerations, and staffing needs; ensuring that employees are appropriately recruited, selected, appraised, and rewarded; taking action to address performance problems; and managing a multi-sector/diverse workforce and a variety of work situations
