The Civil Rights Cold Case Records Review Board, an independent agency established by the Civil Rights Cold Case Records Collection Act of 2018, works with government agencies to accelerate the release of civil rights cold case records related to incidents occurring between 1940 and 1979. The incumbent leads a team of researchers and is responsible for developing methods and providing training for accessing, researching, and analyzing government-held records to support the work of the Board.

The incumbent leads a team of researchers and is responsible for developing methods and providing training for accessing, researching, and analyzing government-held records to support the work of the Board.
The public. U.S. Citizens or U.S. Nationals; no prior Federal experience is required.
Under the supervision of the Board and Chief of Staff, the incumbent:
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you meet the following requirements:
You have at least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
Master's degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g. history, journalism, law, political science, library science, etc.) AND minimum of 3 years of relevant experience;
OR
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. history, journalism, law, political science, library science, etc.) AND a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Official documentation of degree status must be attached to the application.
