This position is located in the Regional Business Office, Support Service Program NAS, Patuxent River, MD. The incumbent in this position is responsible for the employee payroll and maintaining payroll records for approximately 1000 NAF (Non-appropriated fund) employees assigned to Regional MWR and VQ regional storefronts.

Performs routine payroll, timekeeping and administrative duties. This includes the reconciliation of timecards, work schedules (revised by management), leave slips, and W-4 Forms. Performs the keying and transmittal of payroll data via computer. Compares payroll register with submitted time sheets for accuracy. Process bi-weekly payroll summaries for each activity itemizing gross wages, deductions, etc. Inputs corrections to previous payrolls as indicated.
Processes garnishments, child support orders, and court ordered benefits enrollments for dependent minors in accordance with Federal and State requirements and other deductions as required. Ensures the correct calculation of payments, enter into payroll system, and follow-up to adjust and/or end deductions when completed. Ensures proper recalculations are performed as necessary.
Compiles reports as required and reconciles monthly contribution report listing employee deductions for life, medical, disability, and retirement benefits.
Maintains information regarding all employees that are in excess 240 annual leave hours and inform employees and managers prior to end of calendar year. Ensures the appropriate computation of necessary benefits payment for employees who must make restitution for the employee portion of costs due to absence without pay, and past payments to the proper accounts. Researches and prepares statistical reports concerning wages. This information includes furnishing figures to MWR Directors for the yearly NAFI operating budget. Processes download of current payroll information bi-weekly input into the payroll accounting system.
