Summary

About the Position: Serve as the Deputy Director for the Defense Forensics and Biometrics Agency (DFBA). Oversee and manage the day-to-day executive and operational activities of DFBA. Coordinate activities with the Office of the Provost Marshal General (OPMG) and the designated Principal Staff Assistant for Forensics and Biometrics.

Duties

Help
  • Manage operational and management activities in support of the Command Group.
  • Formulate policies, plans, and program objectives that support agency goals.
  • Advise management on essential actions and the impact of program changes.
  • Ensure proper coordination, correctness, timeliness, and completion of assigned actions.
  • Develop short-range and long-range organizational plans based on immediate needs and anticipated changes throughout command.
  • Provide managerial advice and assistance on requirements, policies, and challenges.
  • Approve the allocation and distribution of budgetary funds of the Command Group to meet budget funding goals.
  • Oversee the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of the agency's priorities and programs.
  • Assist, advise, and issue directives in relation to operating and administrative difficulties.
  • Plan work to be accomplished by staff members.
  • Identify developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training.
  • Develop performance standards for employees supervised.
  • Hear and resolve group grievances or serious employee complaints.

Specialized experience is defined as: establishing plans and policies to accomplish programs and projects, identify problems or issues within programs, resolve issues or problems within established programs or projects, planning work to be accomplished, setting timeframes for work to be completes, evaluating work completed to ensure standards were met and quality of work accomplished.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).

Education

Additional information

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
