Serving as a Law Enforcement intern makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission.
The primary purpose of this position is for a Law Enforcement Internship: Designed for students who are interested in a career in law enforcement, you will be assigned a mentor from one of the FLETC training divisions. Half of your time will be spent auditing basic or advanced training programs. The remaining half of your time will be spent working on meaningful training-related research and writing projects under the guidance of your mentor.
You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.

College Intern Program (CIP) is an 8-week program hosted by FLETC that is open to U.S. citizens who are either undergraduate students with at least 90 semester hours (135 quarter hours) or graduate students. CIP participants are unpaid and do not receive a stipend or per diem.
Participants are solely responsible for any and all travel arrangements and expenses.
Participants expend half of their time auditing the training courses at their respective location, while the remaining half of their time is used to support their assigned branch, division, or directorate in furthering mission goals.
Housing and meals are provided to full-time participants selected for the Artesia, New Mexico; Charleston, South Carolina; and Glynco, Georgia, locations only and who are located outside the local commuting area.
Participants selected for the Cheltenham, Maryland location, will be responsible for their own housing and meals.
College credit(s) may be granted to the participant by their academic institution once they successfully complete the program.
You must maintain student eligibility and enrollment for the duration of the internship. This internship does NOT offer conversion to permanent employment. You will be required to complete the FLETC Student Volunteer Service Agreement and DHS Form 1000-6 Non-Disclosure Agreementif you are selected.
FLETC reserves the right to discontinue the College Intern Program (CIP) at any time for any reason.
