Duties

Help

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

  • Assist in the issuance and distribution of draft and final reports, including e-mailing copies to reviewers, preparing transmittals, copying, binding, and mailing.
  • Help the Division Director with staff training duties including completion of maintenance of staff training records, payment for training, and coordination of training arrangements with vendors.
  • Perform periodic reviews of office practices and procedures for paperwork management, supplies, equipment, records, and other administrative areas, and makes recommendations to the Division Director to improve office operations.
  • Perform research in emerging information technology, integration of data from different information systems, and capabilities of software programs to formulate recommendations; and provides support to OHI, OAE, or OMA SharePoint end-users.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience for a GS-09 is one year of experience at the GS-07 level or equivalent that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement which has equipped the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:
- Providing administrative support such as drafting reports, sending office wide emails and tracking office workload; AND
- Gathering, researching and providing technical information in response to inquiries; AND
- Using computers and variety of software programs to carry out daily responsibilities;

OR

You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Attach a copy of transcripts or list of college courses designating semester or quarter hours earned to ensure proper credit.

OR

You may qualify on a combination of education and experience. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered as qualifying education.


Specialized experience for a GS-11 is one year of experience at the GS-09 level, or equivalent that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes:
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, including populating information in SharePoint and creating/modifying views to provide just-in-time information for managers; AND
- Gathering, researching and providing technical information in response to inquiries; AND
- Developing and presenting training to a branch or division on office procedures.

OR

You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Attach a copy of transcript or list of college courses designating semester or quarter hours earned to ensure proper credit.

OR

You may qualify on a combination of education and experience. This is creditable providing the combination consists of 100% of the requirement. Only graduate level education in excess of 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
