This position can be filled in ANY of the following VAOIG locations: Aurora, CO; Austin, TX; Baltimore, MD; Bay Pines, FL; Bedford, MA; Dallas, TX; Decatur, GA; Hines, IL; Kansas City, MO; Los Angeles, CA; Salt Lake City, UT; San Diego, CA; Seattle, WA; and Washington, DC. Location is negotiable once selected. This is not a 100 percent telework position, nor is it a remote location position. Supervisors may require you to report to your duty station more than twice per pay period.

As the Supervisory Management Specialist (Hotline Analytics and Solutions Division Director), you will:

  • Evaluate and oversee a broad spectrum of programs such as Hotline activity and other activities that have resulted in significant improvements including economies and efficiencies.
  • Review and approve hotline cases daily with responses from the department on hotline allegations and summarizing content for Deputies, and Managers to identify and rank VA program vulnerabilities to waste, fraud, and abuse.
  • Review daily helpdesk ticket assignments for the IT Solutions Team (OAE SharePoint Portal and conduct daily meetings with team to discuss numerous on-going SharePoint development requests, review (user-testing) development projects for errors and usability and coordinate changes to existing user applications with other directors or managers.
  • Develop the SharePoint technical support and data collection for the directorate's SharePoint Site and coordinate with the other headquarter directors to support their division's OAE Sharepoint needs by working with all OAE directors and managers to update, modify, and develop IT solutions for management reporting.
  • Collaborate with VA OIG's Hotline Call Center staff on clarifying dispositions, researching alternate VA points of contacts for corrective actions.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
  • Assessing the effectiveness of direction provided by subordinates on structuring and organizing work in accordance with established priorities, guidelines, policies, and practices; AND
  • Responding to internal and external customers to provide SharePoint solutions; AND
  • Providing leadership and direction to professionals ensuring employee performance excellence, employee engagement, collaboration, and diversity; AND
  • Assisting senior management officials on special logistics projects, resource allocation, or administrative matters.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.

Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a nontemporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
