Help
  • You will coordinate activities and building relationships by utilizing expert knowledge of DoD foreign and strategic policies, programs, and protocols to facilitate and enhance two-way executive level communication.
  • You will serve as the subject matter expert in senior leader and executive educational outreach issues.
  • You will oversee the DoD level synchronization of Ted Stevens Center (TSC) activities and all other senior leader and executive educational programs and events in support of command and partner nation strategies.
  • You will coordinate resolution of high-level issues between the Combatant Commander, USNORTHCOM, and the TSC Director regarding senior level educational programs, outreach initiatives, training, etc.
  • You will respond directly to executive level inquiries and provide information, feedback and follow up as required on issues of mutual interests to TSC and Commands as directed by leadership.
  • You will make policy interpretations and offer recommendations to senior leaders in response to proposed and/or anticipated changes in legislative and regulatory requirements affecting the interests of the United States.
  • You will determine the need for budget, manpower, and other resource changes based on executive-level knowledge of current and long-range priorities for teaching and research.
  • The incumbent interprets changing objectives, along with changing international, political, and/or cultural conditions, isolates areas that need development or study, and devises on plans to accomplish targeted recruitment goals and initiatives.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-15: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience in establishing and maintaining relations with key individuals or groups and understand what motivates them; gains cooperation from other to obtain information, find solutions, and accomplish goals; Identifies and analyzes problems, seeks and generates alternative perspectives and solutions, making timely and effective recommendations based on potential implications of findings or conclusions; conveys written information in a clear, concise, organized and convincing manner for the intended audience.


GS-14: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with key individuals or groups; organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short or long term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals, monitoring progress and evaluates outcomes.
