Duties

Help
  • Serves as Deputy to the Group Director (GD) and exercises supervisory authority over the staff in the Director’s absence.
  • Mentors technical policy, program and data experts to develop evidence-based policy and data recommendations.
  • Provides leadership in support of developing quality improvement program implementation and data policies, including evaluation of the evidence and ensuring the policy is appropriate for Medicare beneficiaries.
  • Participates in and makes substantive contributions to top-level discussions and planning sessions on data strategy, execution, and IT solutions as a means to accomplish the business strategy
  • Serves as a key Agency representative and expert on iQIIG data and technical solutions in support of the Group Director’s vision and leadership.

In order to qualify for the GS-15, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: (1) Planning or directing the development and execution of healthcare quality improvement policies; (2) Effectively communicating organizational programmatic goals to stakeholders, public groups, and private sector groups; AND (3) Supervising or leading work performed by employees or teams to ensure that program goals are achieved.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
