Duties

Help

  • Determines internal training needs regarding available cybersecurity, cloud architecture, digital forensics, user experience and user-centered applications advancement, methods, resources, tools, and technology applications, and provides accurate advice to heighten efficiency and productivity of technology staff.
  • Leads or collaborates with relevant staff in creating advanced technology products, writes software to implement advanced algorithms to devise innovative technology solutions.
  • Provides highly skilled and authoritative expertise to all levels of the agency, and external partners to influence, motivate, or persuade persons or groups and builds consensus for taking actions related to advancing the fundamental goals and objectives advanced technology program.
  • Research emergent user support, knowledge management trends, and technology advancements from government and industry, to provide recommendations for enhancements to agency programs and tools, techniques, practices, and approaches.
  • Provides AI leadership; promotes adoption of AI and advanced analytic methods through partnership with program offices' leadership.
  • Assists OIG components on analytic products; provides highly skilled and authoritative expertise on analytic methods to all levels of OIG.

Basic Requirement:

IT Competencies: For all positions, individuals must have IT-related experience (which may be obtained by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate) demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

  1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

To qualify at the GS-15 level:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must have one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
  • Managing/overseeing a Cloud Solutions team dedicated to the delivery of technical data architectures;
  • Enacting strategies to advance the ability of an organization to apply AI and other advanced technologies to large datasets to advance mission goals;
  • Leading human-centered cloud applications development assignments that required a wide range of experience with agile delivery techniques pertinent to the position to be filled.
All qualification requirements must be met by 11:59 pm (Eastern Time) on the closing date of this vacancy announcement.

Education may not be substituted for experience for this position.

SUITABILITY, CLEARANCE & REQUIREMENTS: A background investigation may be required for all new hires.
