Duties

Help

As an IT Specialist (Applications Software) within the Enterprise Architecture (EA) program the incumbent will develop blueprints for judiciary technology in the commercial cloud and private cloud data centers. The incumbent will be the national technical authority in frontend and backend development.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Leading system modernization efforts necessary to develop enterprise solutions and conduct implementation tasks by means of creating full-stack implementation models of applications representing Judiciary's needs, while working closely with program offices in gaining deeper understanding of their existing applications and providing architectural recommendations to elevate the applications from on-premises to cloud solutions.
  2. Developing new features and infrastructure in support of rapidly emerging business and project requirements.
  3. Designing and developing application programming interfaces (APIs).
  4. Collaboratively working with Product Manager, Product Owners on business initiatives to consult and advising on technical solution designs in an Agile Framework.
  5. Assessing existing systems with and understanding of how to maximize quality and customer satisfaction, minimizing maintenance costs and other operational issues.
  6. Collaborating cross-functionally with Business Analysts, QA, and other team members to achieve solutions which satisfy business needs, goals, and objective.
  7. Working alongside other Software Engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices as they relate to the project and general software engineering concepts.
  8. Deploying application components in a multi-cloud environment.

Qualifications

Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions.

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience, which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience establishing best practices, lessons learned and technology approaches to IT modernization capabilities including development, security, and operations (DevSecOps) software development, network services, cloud services and other modern technologies.
