Duties

Help
  • Serves as the Chief of Staff for United States Army Aberdeen Test Center (ATC) assisting the Commander and Technical Director in executing business matters ensuring effective and efficient operations.
  • Directly supervise and provide administrative program and task direction to the offices of the staff directors and special staff.
  • Oversees the business operations of a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and associated funding model.
  • Oversees the management of resources, schedules, and budgets across the organization.
  • Participate in long range planning of activities, resources, and new initiatives.
  • Oversees the operations of the organization to include functions such as taskers, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ensures effective hiring practices are used to meet recruitment goals.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships within, across and outside the organization to accomplish organizational goals.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the NH-03 grade level in the Federal service which includes: (1) Execute operational functions such as Budget, Contracts, Manpower, and Human Resources; AND 2) Develop plans for administrative personnel programs; AND 3) Manage organizational functions such as security, logistics, and operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-03 or GS-13 equivalent).

  • The U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) is participating in an alternate personnel system known as the Acquisition Demonstration Project (AcqDemo). Among other features, the Demonstration Project replaced GS grade levels with occupational families and pay bands. The band NH-03 is equal to the former GS-14 Step 01 through GS-15 step 10. ATEC uses salary control points to allow for differentiation in the level of positions within the same broadband. Therefore, the salary for this position will be set no higher than $191,900 including locality.
