Help
  • Exercises delegated managerial authority to set a series of annual, multiyear, or similar types of long-range work plans and schedules.
  • Provides administrative program direction to various subordinate supervisors and special staff in financial, maintenance, supply, engineering, Intelligence and Security, community activities, and personnel areas.
  • Presents and discusses a range of subjects including changes in levels of support services provided, and reduction of cost of government operations.
  • Coordinates activities and actions involving several organizations, establishing responsibilities and time schedules, when necessary.
  • Participates in various planning, financial and operational committees and boards.
  • Coordinates with multiple long-distance staffs and special staffs to obtain advice and information on all core base functions as well as legal, public affairs, contracting, etc.
  • Finds and implements ways to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers to work completion, promote team building, or improve business practices.
  • Through subordinate supervisors and special staff offices, assigns and reviews work, monitors accomplishment for timeliness and acceptability, provides advice, counsel, and instruction.
  • Hears and resolves employee complaints, and effects disciplinary measures.
  • Represents the Manager at ceremonies, official functions, and public events.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes formulating policy or plans for specific programs or projects. Directing work which involves a wide range of functions, manpower, programs and/or procedures. Analyzing and making decisions concerning work issues presented by subordinate staff and keeping high-level management advised of significant problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Additional information

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.

  • Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
