Duties

Help
  • Develop, and implement the operation of the Bureau’s Diversity Programs in accordance with OPM, federal and department regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop and implement the Bureau’s Diversity and Inclusion strategic initiatives.
  • Plan, develop and oversee diversity and inclusion workgroups, committees, conferences, and offsite meetings.
  • Develop, interpret, and analyze data extracts and reports from the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey, Organizational Climate Survey, and HR EEO databases/reports.
  • Recommend and monitor training for all areas of the Bureau.
  • Serve as a diversity and inclusion program coordinator.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: Supporting the development, implementation, and operation of the Bureau's (EEO) Diversity Programs in accordance with EEOC, OPM, federal, and departmental regulations, policies, and procedures; Planning, developing, and facilitating proactive prevention training programs for management and employees; Analyzing and evaluating mission-oriented programs, which includes interpreting quantitative and qualitative workforce data; Developing long-range program plans, goals, objectives, and milestones to evaluate the effectiveness of programs conducted throughout an Agency/Bureau; Working collaboratively with leadership to communicate operational plans, goals, objectives assignments, and actionable events to the team; Ensuring the completion of assignments within deadlines and timeframes; and preparing workforce analysis report.

Education: Education cannot be substituted at this grade level.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer.

Additional information

If hired for this position with the Census Bureau, at its headquarters office located in Suitland, Maryland, you will be expected to temporarily telework to maximum extent while the headquarters building is being renovated. Once permitted to return to the office building, you will be expected to do so within 30 calendar days of receiving notification. At that time, you may be eligible to continue to telework or work remotely two or more days a pay period consistent with the Census Bureau's flexible telework and remote work policies and approval from your supervisor.
