As a Deputy Director Digital Preservation, you will:

- Work alongside the Director of Digital Preservation in the ongoing development, implementation, and operation of the digital preservation program.

- Analyze, develop, and propose appropriate strategies, risk criteria, and standards for the preservation of electronic record holdings.

- Develop, review, and/or approve NARA contributions to government, national, and international standards and best practices relating to digital preservation.

- Serve as the Deputy Director of Digital Preservation. As such, the incumbent shares with the Director responsibility for ensuring the proper management, operation, and continued success of the program and its activities.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

- Supervising or leading digital preservation strategies in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders; AND
- Developing and implementing digital preservation strategies, technologies and procedures; AND
- Recommending policy or procedural changes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of a program.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable (as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F):
For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13level for 52 weeks.
