As an Information Technology Specialist (Application Software) at the GS-2210-14 grade level, some of your typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to the following:
Ensures the rigorous application of information security/ information assurance policies, principles, and practices to the delivery of application software services.
Utilize a wide range of subject matter practices, laws, regulations, policies, and precedents and uses a range of analytical methods to identify, evaluate, and recommend appropriate solutions.
Provide written and oral communication techniques sufficient to develop and deliver briefings, project papers, status/staff reports, and correspondence to managers to foster understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations.
Evaluates new applications software technologies.
Determines and designs applications architecture.
Applications Software (APPSW) work involves the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of new or existing applications software.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level.
Provides technical expertise in development and sustainment of cloud-based applications, capabilities, containerization, and core back end services.
Participates in communication with ITS managers and team members to assist in ensuring compliance with architecture standards and guidelines for secure coding and meeting all requirements for quality, security, and scalability.
Designs, develops, maintains, and integrates web applications, including OIG custom-developed such as ASP.Net, .NET Core, C#, HTML, jQuery, SQL, SharePoint, and SQL Server application server platforms in an object-oriented methodology.
Understands and has experience in the principles, methods, and tools for automating, developing, implementing, and administering database systems.
Guides and reviews strategies for the recovery of Applications and Data in the event of systems failure. Oversees recovery methodology for the systems in coordination with the overall disaster recovery plan.
