This job opportunity is for an INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE TECHNICIAN, position description D1720000, within the 177 MEG GP of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position.

This vacancy announcement is for a Dual-Status Technician position which requires active membership in the New Jersey National Guard (uniformed military service). Official appointment is not effective until membership within the New Jersey National Guard is confirmed by the gaining Human Resources Office.

Duties

Help

As an INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE TECHNICIAN, GS-0640-10, you will:

  • Serve as a technical advisor to Wing leadership on all issues pertaining to Occupational Safety and Health directives
  • Inspect and evaluate operational facilities and various activities to detect and eliminate health hazards
  • Manage and assess installation environmental sampling, analysis and monitoring requirements
  • Review and approve issues related to hazardous material including personal protective equipment and disposal requirements
  • Manage a multitude of safety and environmental health programs and platforms
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • CAT 2, All permanent, Indefinite on-board, Title 32 and Title 5 Employees within 177th organization

Qualifications

General Experience:
Experience, education, or training which provided a basic knowledge of principles and practices related to occupational health programs.

Specialized Experience:
Must have at least 18 months experience, education, or training in the following:

  • A working knowledge of missions, organizations, programs and requirements of occupational health programs
  • Experience analyzing and recommending solutions to complicated problems
  • Experience developing and implementing various policies and procedures used in occupational health programs
  • Experience involving various administrative areas such as budget, personnel and public relations within a medical activity

Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance within 1(One) Year of appointment.
