Duties

Help
  • Participates with the DPM in long-range planning for the Project Delivery Business Process (PDBP) and related activities and serves to relieve the DPM of decisions related to accomplishments of daily work occurring under jurisdiction of the position.
  • Serves as Deputy Chief of Programs and Project Management providing guidance to, and coordinating between, the Branch Chiefs in Programs and Project Management Division (PPMD) and other offices and/or Divisions involvement in PDBP.
  • Provides the Programs and Project portion of data required for Command Management Review (CMR) and Directorate Management Review (DMR).
  • Advises and makes recommendations to the Director on work regarding courses of action applicable to programs, planning, studies, and technical considerations involved in activities of subordinate segments for Programs and Project management.
  • Develops performance indicators for programs and project programs and evaluates/monitors key programs for the Civil Works Program.
  • Serves as the Program and Project proponent at Regional Program Review Board (RPRB) and Regional Management Board (RMB).
  • Ensures all districts within the Division are properly implementing effective quality control on all work processes and products.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Oversight and interpretation of program data as it related to project schedules, manpower and budget; (2) Coordination with internal and external stakeholders; AND (3) Supervision, leadership, or extensive experience working with and/or directing Civil Works Water Resources programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent. For the GS-14 you must have 52 weeks at the GS-13 level.

With regards to time-in-grade validation, if you held a position other than a GS pay plan, be sure your resume includes the pay plan and the salary you earned during the assignment. Without this information, your time-in-grade validation may not be able to be verified and will result in your not meeting the time-grade requirement for this vacancy.
