Qualifications
ASSESSMENT FACTORS
1. Experience in applying the principles and techniques of investigating, interviewing, evidence collection and analysis and procedures relating to criminal, civil and administrative actions against civilians and uniformed personnel. 2. Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, and investigating criminal and administrative investigations on a wide range of subject matters. 3. Develops and employs strategies to analyze key issues, drawing conclusions from data and recommending viable solutions to address Agency mission needs. 4. Takes initiative to anticipate issues, resolves conflict among multiple priorities, and implements effective solutions to prevent problems that might impact timelines and deliverables. 5. Interprets exceptionally complex information and issues to formulate logical conclusions and recommendations.
HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS
1. Investigative experience, preferably in the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, or the Inspector General Community. 2. Graduate of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center's Criminal Investigator Course, or a Federal or Military Equivalent.
Individual Occupational Requirements Medical Requirements
The duties of positions in this series require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of finger, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, leGG, and feet must be sufficiently intact and functioning in order that applicants may perform the duties satisfactorily. Sufficiently good vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required to perform the duties satisfactorily. Near vision, corrective lenses permitted, must be sufficient to read printed material the size of typewritten characters. Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 35 decibels at 1000, 2000, and 3000 Hz levels. Since the duties of these positions are exacting and responsible, and involve activities under trying conditions, applicants must possess emotional and mental stability. Any physical condition that would cause the applicant to be a hazard to himself/herself, or others is disqualifying.

DIA positions are Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) positions in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1601. All applicants must be U.S. citizens at the time of application. Applicants must meet the agency’s conditions of employment, to include, but not limited to, satisfactory completion of an initial special background investigation and periodic reinvestigation, completion of any required medical examination and physical requirements, completion of any required personal interviews, favorable completion of any required initial or aperiodic polygraph examinations, completion of any required drug test, satisfactory completion of a two-year Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System trial period, and completion of a civilian mobility agreement.
