Duties

Help
  • Act as the working arm of the Battalion S3, integrating new and proposed mission areas into the current operation.
  • Develop short and long-range plans for the upgrade and/or expansion of existing and new IMA systems.
  • Represent the command on committees, panels and at conferences with higher echelons, such as Department of the Army (DA), DoD, DISA, JCS, and other government agencies and commercial vendors.
  • Provide input and documentation for the programming of resources and providing telecommunications to support Army Executive Agent responsibilities.
  • Develop and provides funding recommendations based on mission impact and funding availability.
  • Develop milestones, prepares progress reports, monitors, and coordinates the technical planning, engineering, installation, and operation for the life cycle management of telecommunications systems at RRMC.
  • Provide oversight of cyber security, battalion training, and the Emergency Actions Operations Center (EAOC).
  • Develop annual performance plans, appraises performance, and provides written performance appraisals to employees. Mentors’ employees regarding their progress in meeting performance requirement, or actions needed to meet standards.

  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access for the duration of employment.
  • One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
  • This position is designated as Key. The position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the mission.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by providing staff direction and advice relative to existing communication systems; developing communication systems and network requirements or procedures to meet organizational objectives; implementing plans and policies governing the operation of Command, Control, Communications, and Computer (C4) systems; providing oversight of cyber security, battalion training, and the Emergency Actions Operations Center (EAOC).

  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs may be warranted. This position may be subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position is designated "Mission Essential." In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations. Due to the nature of the mission, employee may not be in the Ready Reserves, National Guard or a Military Retiree with recall obligations.
  • This position is subject to a 2-hour alert and operational recall and periodic work schedule changes to meet daily mission operational requirements. Employee is required to provide a reliable method of contact / communication and respond within 1 hour of notification receipt.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I Confidential Financial Disclosure Reports) upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 17-Nov-201
