Identifying new areas for audit and planning new engagements by submitting tactical plan suggestions that support the OIG annual plan as well as audit proposals.
Developing program guides that address computer security and information technology audit objectives and provide a clear path for developing convincing findings and actionable recommendations.
Exercising technical direction over the collection and analysis of all computer systems and security data; and ensuring that evidence collected is sufficient, relevant, and competent and properly documented and reviewed in the audit working papers.
Drafting audit reports that consolidate and integrate the work of others.
Planning for and conducting or participating in conferences with key officials of audited activities to obtain information and advise them of audit progress and developing honest and productive relationships with these internal and external parties.
This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position. IAW Public Law 112-81 and DoD Policy the incumbent shall comply with the requirements of DoD FM Certification Program.
Individuals tentatively selected for drug testing designated positions at the Defense Information Systems Agency will be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment or placement.
This is a covered position and the person selected for this position must complete an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of appointment pursuant to 5 CFR 2634.903(b) (DoD 5500.7).
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting.
or
Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or
Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.
Qualifying Experience:
For the GS-13, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-12 if outside the Federal service.
Qualifying experience is defined as experience conducting performance audits related to information technology (IT) systems and cyber operations to determine compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures, identifying and developing program guides that address audit objectives, evaluating the effectiveness/efficiency of computer systems, and resolving program related problems and recommending solutions.
